AARP Hearing Center

As we enter a new season, AARP continues to show up across Florida as both a wise friend and a fierce defender. Our mission remains rooted in protecting the interests of older adults and ensuring that every Floridian can age with dignity, security, and purpose.
In August, we proudly celebrated 90 years of Social Security—a cornerstone of economic stability for millions of Americans. Across our state, we marked this milestone with events, stories, and advocacy that honored the legacy of this vital initiative while reaffirming our commitment to its future. Social Security is a promise kept to generations who have worked hard and contributed to our nation’s success.
But our work doesn’t stop at a federal level.
We’ve stood up for Floridians by opposing utility rate increase proposals that would disproportionately impact older adults living on fixed incomes. Rising costs for basic necessities like electricity and water threaten the financial security of too many in our communities. That’s why we’ve been vocal and vigilant, engaging with regulators, mobilizing advocates and amplifying the voices of our members.
Looking ahead, we know there’s still more to do. From strengthening protections for vulnerable populations to expanding access to affordable housing and healthcare, AARP Florida is focused on the issues that matter most. We’re working with local leaders, state agencies and community partners to ensure that policies reflect the needs and realities of older Floridians.
You remind us that change is possible when we stand together. Thank you for your continued support, your engagement, and your belief in a better future for all generations.
Let’s keep showing up. Let’s keep speaking out. And let’s keep building a state that benefits all Floridians.
