The state’s 2.9 million family caregivers provide selfless assistance to loved ones, a task that has been particularly challenging during the pandemic.
AARP Florida is recognizing these unpaid caregivers as the main sponsor of a free virtual filmfest, running from Nov. 26 to 29. The event, during National Family Caregivers Month, has the theme “Giving Thanks to Our Caregivers & Celebrating Our Community.”
The film festival will consist of 20 entries, from short works to features.
The series’s topics include “Empowering the Human Spirit,” “Celebrating Caregivers” and “Music Soothes the Soul.”
