Volunteer Opportunity: Make Animal Blankets and Toys on Sept. 21

Each year, AARP celebrates a National Day of Service where staff and volunteers throughout the country commemorate those lost and the benevolence of those who helped on September 11 by engaging in volunteer projects throughout the day.

This year, AARP Florida will be creating animal blankets and animal toys, out of AARP shirts, for shelters and pantries in your area.

Create the Good® and AARP Florida on Sept. 21 for a virtual volunteer event to bring joy to furry friends around the country by repurposing old t-shirts into toys!

This event is FREE and open to the public. Please invite friends and family to participate with you! The first 175 registrants will receive an event-themed kit while supplies last. One kit per household.

Participants will have the option to join the event via Zoom for a more interactive experience or view the event LIVE at The Zoom link will be provided 24 hours prior to the event.
Note: When joining the event through Zoom, the event will stream live to the Create the Good Facebook page. If you choose to turn your video camera on, your background will be visible during the live event. Participants should be aware of their surroundings and respectful at all times. Inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated and may result in the participant being removed from the event.
