Golf for a Good Cause

Play golf AND support a local organization that supplies durable medical equipment to those in need.

The South Metro Medical Equipment Loan Closet (SMMELC)* is hosting a 4-person scramble golf tournament on Monday, Sept. 17, 2018, at Heather Ridge Golf Course, 13521 E. Iliff Ave. Aurora, CO 80014.

Shotgun start begins at 8 a.m. A sandwich lunch will be available at 1 p.m. at Hope United Methodist Church, 5101 S Dayton St, Greenwood Village, CO 80111. Golfers who do not have a foursome can be paired with others. Please go to our website to download the Golf Tournament registration form.

The South Metro Medical Equipment Loan Closet, located in Greenwood Village, is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to provide used durable medical equipment to anyone age 18 and older for a short period of time. There is no set fee. Donations are accepted.

Loans are short term for up to three months to any person requesting equipment. Whether you are recovering from surgery, having elderly relatives visit, rehabilitation at home, recovering from a broken limb, or are waiting on permanent equipment to arrive, we can provide medical equipment to assist you.

Available equipment includes:  wheelchairs, transport chairs, various kinds of walkers, shower benches, toilet-risers, bedside commodes, knee cruisers, crutches, canes, hospital beds with mattresses and various health aids. Some equipment for bariatric needs is available.

SMMELC is a 100 percent volunteer organization. Volunteers answer the phone Monday through Friday and set appointments to meet clients to accept donations, or loan out equipment. Call 720-443-2013 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for an appointment to borrow or donate equipment.
