AARP Indiana is working to help address a statewide shortage of affordable housing, including helping fund and build a Habitat for Humanity home in Evansville. Other steps include advocating for zoning adjustments and initiatives aimed at diversifying Indiana’s housing stock.
AARP is partnering with the state of Indiana to fund projects aimed at improving communities so residents can age in place.
More and more older Hoosiers want to live in their communities and age-in-place.
Update – May 25, 2023
A team of volunteers and City of Fort Wayne staff continues its hard work to make the community friendly to people of all ages.
The state legislature begins its session next month, and AARP Indiana plans to advocate for more support to help Indiana residents live independently.
Communities across Indiana are working to become more livable for residents of all ages.
IndyGo and the Indianapolis Public Transportation Foundation (IPTF) recently announced several annual awards. The foundation named AARP Indiana as the 2021 winner of the annual Partnership Award.
Hoosiers can help make their communities more livable for all residents by conducting walk audits that help evaluate how safe and easy (or not) it is for pedestrians to get around neighborhoods.
