What’s an ADU?  Hint, Fonzie lived in one.

Wednesday, May 12 / 11:30 a.m. – Noon / Des Moines Focus / REGISTER
Wednesday, May 12 / 1:00 – 1:30 pm / Cedar Rapids Focus / REGISTER

Remember that 70’s show Happy Days? When the Cunningham’s think their hardware store is doomed, and they decide to rent out the apartment above their garage to Fonzie for extra income, that’s an ADU.  Technically known as an “accessory dwelling unit” they are also often called: granny flats, in-law suites, basement apartments or coach houses. And they are fast becoming an affordable housing solution and income generator for homeowners.

Are you looking to add additional living space to your home? Maybe you want to have space for family members to stay with you, or maybe you’re looking to rent out the space for extra income like the Cunninghams. Whatever the case may be, an accessory dwelling unit, or ADU, may be the right choice. Join us to learn more about what ADUs are and the many benefits they may offer homeowners.
