Learn About Election Issues at State Fair

State Fair - food booth JClearwater 15587

The Iowa State Fair in Des Moines is the largest event in the state and one of the oldest agricultural and industrial expositions in the country. The 2018 fair runs Thursday through Sunday, Aug. 9-19, and about a million people are expected to attend.

AARP Iowa welcomes visitors of all ages to its booth in the Varied Industries Building. Visitors can pick up information on voting in the midterm elections, as well as resources for caregiving, fraud prevention and livable communities. There will also be giveaways.

In addition, AARP Iowa will have a tent on the Grand Concourse on Monday, Aug. 13—Veterans' Day at the fair—to provide resources for military families. Veterans who visit the tent are invited to pinpoint where they served on a map.
