AARP Louisiana is looking for people to help on a wide range of programs that strengthen communities. These include “virtual volunteers” who can help with social media, write and edit newsletters, and conduct online workshops.
On Wednesday, May 6, AARP Louisiana State Director, Denise Bottcher sent the following letter to Governor John Bel Edwards, Secretary Courtney Phillips, Louisiana Department of Health; and Assistant Secretary Alex Billioux, Louisiana Department of Health.
AARP is providing information and resources about COVID-19 to help older Louisianans, and their families protect themselves from the virus and prevent it from spreading to others.
The Bayou State is home to 680,000 family caregivers providing $6 billion in unpaid assistance annually. With that come stories of personal struggle and persistence.
