AARP Michigan is working on the “Menopause: It’s a Movement!” campaign, led by the Michigan Women’s Commission. Since March, women from across the state have attended panels in which menopause experts seek to help them better advocate for their midlife health. Their stories — and potential policy changes — will be included in a March 2026 report detailing possible next steps.

AARP Michigan’s fifth annual "Why I Love My Grandparents" Essay Contest for school-age students is under way. Essays must be submitted by August 1, 2014.

The first two stops on the AARP Michigan Health Decisions T0ur drew 132 interested health care consumers and led to lively discussion in Lansing and Grand Rapids.
The Michigan Office of Services to the Aging (OSA) Director Kari Sederburg issued the following statement on the AARP 2014 State Long-Term Services and Supports Scorecard results for the state of Michigan:
Michigan still needs tomake substantial improvements when it comes to meeting the long-term care needs of older residents, especially when it comes to support for family caregivers. This, according to a new, comprehensive state-by-state Scorecard from AARP with support of the nation’s leading organizations behind quality long-term care, The Commonwealth Fund and SCAN Foundation.
Sgt. Thomas Hickey, a 22 -year veteran of the Ann Arbor Police Department, wants to keep Senior drivers in Ann Arbor safer on the roads.
To celebrate the independence that driving affords, AARP Driver Safety will offer a discounted online course in July.
LANSING, Mich. – AARP Michigan announced today its endorsement of Proposal 1 on the Aug. 5statewide ballot, which stabilizes funding for local government services, helps small businesses without raising taxes and modernizes Michigan’s tax system.
