In this unprecedented legislative session at the Minnesota State Capitol, where a historic power-sharing agreement and looming federal funding cuts are shaping the future, AARP tirelessly advocates for older adults' rights and well-being.
A law passed in 2023 will soon help older Minnesotans choose the best Medicare plan for their needs. But some lawmakers want to repeal this law. 𝗧𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗹𝗮𝘄𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀.
AARP is now accepting nominations for its 2025 Minnesota Andrus Award for Community Service, which honors Minnesotans 50-plus who are sharing their experience, talent, and skills to enrich the lives of their community members.
AARP Minnesota will inform residents about the change and promote AARP Smart Driver courses and other AARP Driver Safety programs during Traffic Safety Day at the Mall of America in May.
Reliable, affordable high-speed internet access is of utmost importance to older Minnesotans, but access and adoption have remained elusive for too many, too long. In addition, it will be critical to help people acquire the skills, devices, and capacity they need to access the internet and reap the full benefits of our digital economy.
Age-Friendly Minnesota, a statewide collaborative focused on making communities more inclusive and accessible to older adults, hosed its inaugural three-day conference on Wednesday, Sept. 27.

The generation gap is often used to define and separate people, but it holds the power to strengthen communities and teach across generational lines. AARP invests in communities across Minnesota through eight organizations as part of nationwide grant program.

Our presentations and workshops provide useful tools and actionable information to help Minnesotans 50-plus live their best lives. The presentations are typically 30 to 60 minutes and can be tailored to meet your needs. Please note that AARP MN requests at least 15 attendees for a presentation.
Fighting for Minnesotans 50-plus and Their Families
AARP Minnesota is sponsoring a space that will celebrate older members of the LGBTQ+ community at the annual Twin Cities Pride Festival. The festival is the weekend of June 23–25, at Loring Park, 1382 Willow St., in Minneapolis.
