Watch Out for Scams This Holiday Season

Common fraud scams

The holiday season brings out scam artists, and AARP Montana is alerting people to swindles through its Fraud Watch Friday radio show.

Host Tom Schultz and Al Ward, AARP Montana’s volunteer state president, talk with regulators and law enforcement officers about scams like impostor tax agents who trick people into paying bills they don’t owe, phony car warranty representatives, crooks posing as grandchildren needing cash, and “technicians” seeking access to computers.

The show airs on Voices of Montana at 9:06 a.m. on the first Friday of each month on Northern Broadcasting stations. Listeners can register to receive an email reminder for the show, at aarp.org/FraudWatchFriday; call in to the program, at 866-627-5483; or text 781-627-5483.
