Volunteer Spotlight: Dan Zeevi

Dan Zeevi headshot.png

Dan Zeevi, one of AARP New Jersey's 2021 Most Varied Player (MVP) Award recipients, has contributed to a number of AARP New Jersey programs - from healthy living, to technology classes to sharing resources on how to make homes safer and more comfortable for older adults.

Dan joined as a volunteer in 2018 as a member of the Bergen County Community Team. Since then, he has helped plan and implement AARP New Jersey's work engaging with local communities.

He has served as the co-lead for the AARP New Jersey TEK program in Northern New Jersey. The free, hands-on technology workshops have helped participants learn more about their mobile devices and the different functions and settings. Not only did he teach workshops, but he also designed and reviewed the curriculum on a yearly basis to ensure the content remained relevant and practical.

In 2021, he was a leader and consistent host on team Zoombie - contributing to nearly 98 percent of AARP New Jersey virtual events being volunteer-led. He has hosted or co-hosted several New Jersey healthy active living virtual events, which have been attended by thousands of New Jersey residents.

In 2021, he partnered in hosting AARP New Jersey's virtual pilot series on HomeFit Workshops - connecting participants to simple, low-cost or no-cost home modifications.
