State residents can work with AARP to help keep utility rates affordable and to help convince state officials that energy bills need to be reasonable.

AARP members who receive their electricity from OG&E recently took action and received a historic decrease in their rates. Now it’s time for you to do the same. Right now, PSO is trying to keep $428 million dollars of your money. Recently passed tax savings were supposed to be returned to you, but instead PSO wants to keep the savings for themselves. We need your help in asking the corporation commissioners to say No to PSO and make sure the over collected taxes are returned to you.
It’s official: OG&E rates are going down. On June 19, officials with the Oklahoma Corporation Commission accepted a settlement agreement reached between OG&E and state regulators for a historic rate decrease.
AARP Oklahoma applauds today’s announcement of a historic $64 million rate reduction settlement agreement which will result in lower utility bills for OG&E customers beginning in July.
AARP is asking the Oklahoma Corporation Commission to reduce electric and gas rates by requiring utilities to pass recent tax savings on to consumers.
It’s time to help solve Oklahoma’s health crisis and allow nurse practitioners to have full practice authority. 22 states and DC are addressing health care shortages by allowing full practice authority for nurse practitioners. It’s time for Oklahoma to join those ranks. HB 1013 allows nurse practitioners to practice to their full training and education. It expands access to healthcare, especially in our underserved rural areas, and enables older Oklahomans to live independently at home.
AARP Oklahoma is working hard for its members with an aggressive legislative agenda, but we need your help to be successful. Our legislative priorities are listed below. Get involved today and let your voice be heard! To get involved, call or email Chad Mullen at chmullen@aarp.org or 405-715-4470.
