AARP Eye Center
A library program that lends mobile hot spot devices to people in rural areas is expanding.
The program—a collaboration between AARP Oklahoma and Oklahoma State University’s extension service—has hired and trained digital navigators to help people obtain their own low-cost hot spots, sign up for the federal Emergency Broadband Benefit and learn to use digital devices.
Training sessions are being held in Haskell, Blackwell, Okemah, Davis and Pauls Valley community libraries. Go to aarp.org/ok for details.
The hot spot loan program began in 2017 and added locations in Watonga, Chandler-Watts, Stroud and Mannford this year.
