AARP National Caregiving Expert Amy Goyer Headlines Allentown Forum

More than 150 Lehigh Valley residents recently attended a special Caregiving Forum at an Allentown hospital that provided practical advice for individuals currently caring for loved ones at home or anticipating care for themselves or family members.

Hosted by Nancy Werteen of WFMZ-TV, the program addressed  questions from caregivers in the audience through an outstanding panel of experts that included:  Author and nationally-known AARP expert Amy Goyer; the chief of geriatric trauma at Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN); the head of neuroscience research at LVHN, and Bethlehem Township resident  and caregiver Pat Hartigan. The forum also featured more than a dozen exhibitors from local agencies offering practical information for caregivers on an case by case basis.

In addition to news coverage on WFMZ-TV, the entire event was streamed for caregivers who couldn’t attend the program in person and can be viewed here.  The event in Allentown was the first of five Pennsylvania caregiving forums to be held in 2014. Amy Goyer will be returning to the state on May 14 for the next event in Pittsburgh.
