Enrollment Continues for Health Insurance Plans

Open enrollment in health insurance marketplaces continues until Dec. 15. AARP South Carolina reminds residents that Palmetto Project, an independent nonprofit, is a great source of information on health care options and choices.

The state’s uninsured rate has dropped consistently, from 16 percent in 2013 to 9 percent in 2016, according to the nonprofit Kaiser Family Foundation.

Palmetto Project has championed consumers’ right to free access to fair, accurate information about health insurance coverage choices in the federal Health Insurance Marketplace and SC Healthy Connections Medicaid.
