At AARP, we believe Medicare is a deal with the American people that must not be broken.

Unfortunately, the weather prevented us from flooding the capitol with a sea of AARP red this week during our annual Lobby Day. However, an enthusiastic group of Pierre area volunteers did a wonderful job representing the more than 180 advocates who were snowed in across the state. We were joined for lunch by more than 75 Legislators with whom we discussed health care policies, issues of financial security and other AARP SD priorities.

Week 2 of the 2017 South Dakota legislative session is in the books and, as always, there is already a lot going on in Pierre.

The cold of winter has arrived which means that Pierre is a hot bed of activity as the 2017 South Dakota legislative session has begun. Once again, AARP South Dakota is in Pierre working for you.

AARP South Dakota will sponsor candidate debates and bipartisan issue forums in October to help voters make informed decisions at the polls on Tuesday, Nov. 8.
