AARP Eye Center
AARP Texas is in your community and advocating for what matters most to Texans aged 50+ and their families. We are committed to serving all and empowering people to choose how they live as they age, with a focus on health security, financial resilience, and social connection. We are the nation's largest nonprofit, nonpartisan organization with nearly 38 million members with, 2.2 million being Texan.
With the help of our volunteers, partners, and staff (located in one of our 4 state offices: Austin, Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, and San Antonio), we can reach those who need the information most. We offer programs and tools that help residents aged 50+ make the best decisions about their health and financial security. We work to strengthen communities and advocate for what matters most to families, focusing on health security, caregiving, financial stability, fraud prevention tips, veterans’ resources, personal fulfillment, and in-person and virtual events.
But who is AARP? We are collaborating with Houston Public Media to give you an inside look into our work in the Lone Star State. We are producing a three-part series titled "We Are for You, We Are for Everyone." These news magazine-style reports look at the work we do, who we do it for, who we work with to get the job done, and why we do what we do.
Our first report focuses on our AARP work in the Hispanic Community.
