Message from Pat Thompson, AARP Utah State President

Hello AARP members,

I am pleased and honored to have been selected as your new AARP Utah State President.  I am looking forward to emulating the traditions set forth by my predecessors as well addressing new issues that may surface.  As stated in the 2022-2023 AARP Utah Vision Statement, it is essential for us to continue to engage and equip our members and all Utahns to lead their best possible lives.

David Bowie is quoted as having said, “Aging is an extraordinary process where you become the person you always should have been”.  We live our best possible lives by continuing to contribute and staying active.  “One person caring about another represents life’s greatest value.”-Jim Rohn.

As the volunteer state president, I look forward to getting to know each and everyone of you as we work together.  As it is often stated, it takes a village and as volunteers, we are that village for Utah AARP.  I would love to hear from each of you to hear what is working in your various areas and to strategize regarding any concerns.

Pat Thompson
