Pedestrian Safety, Model House Win Utah Grants

community-challenge-logo.jpeg

Plans for street improvements and a new housing model will be possible thanks to AARP Community Challenge grants.

In Cedar City, the Iron County Tourism Bureau’s connectivity and walkability plan along three blocks of University Boulevard received funding for pedestrian safety enhancements, new signs, open-space amenities, a bus shelter and public art.

In Green River, the nonprofit Epicenter will encourage new housing options for low- to moderate-income older adults through construction of a model house with maintenance-free and accessible features. The project will involve older adults in the model’s design and amenities. That information will be shared with developers.
