AARP Washington is urging eligible residents across the state to sign up for high-speed internet discounts available under the federal Affordable Connectivity Program.
More than a third of eligible Washington households either don’t have high-speed internet or don’t have internet service at all. The Affordable Connectivity Program, passed as part of 2021’s bipartisan infrastructure law, seeks to address that by providing internet discounts of up to $30 a month — or $75 a month for those on qualifying tribal lands.
To be eligible, you must meet certain criteria, such as being a household at or below 200 percent of federal poverty guidelines or receiving specific forms of government aid.
