AARP Arkansas invites voters to attend
Oct. 2 candidates forum in Helena-West Helena
Forum held at UAMS-East will feature invited candidates from several races
HELENA-WEST HELENA, Ark.—AARP Arkansas will host a candidates forum on Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014, offering voters an opportunity to find out where candidates stand on issues that impact voters’ lives.
The forum will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) East (formerly the Delta AHEC), 1393 Arkansas Highway 242 South, Helena-West Helena (Phillips County). The building is pictured below:
Attendees will hear comments from invited candidates (or their representatives) including races for U.S. House of Representatives, 1st Congressional District; Mayor; City Attorney; and Aldermen.
The general election is Tuesday, Nov. 4. Voters can check their current voter registration status online at www.voterview.org or by contacting the Phillips County Clerk at 870-338-5505. Monday, Oct. 6 is the deadline to register to vote in the general election.
