President: Ken Thomas
Ken Thomas, a dedicated AARP volunteer and community leader in Boca Raton, Fla., serves as State President for the AARP Florida Executive Council, guiding state initiatives. Previously, he was AARP Florida State President (2014) and the first Regional Volunteer Director for the Mega Region. A retired FAA and U.S. Air Force professional, he has volunteered since 2003, mentoring children and advocating for Social Security and Medicare. Originally from Williamsburg, Va., Ken is a Tuskegee Airman honoree, AARP Driver Safety Instructor, and proud husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Cheryl Jefferson
Cheryl Jefferson, a Jacksonville, Fla., native and AARP Executive Council Member, has been advocating for seniors in Northeast Florida for over five years. She actively engages with local communities and travels to Tallahassee to meet with legislators, addressing key issues impacting older adults. Dedicated to improving the lives of Floridians 50+, Cheryl is a passionate voice for senior advocacy. When not volunteering, she enjoys spending time with her husband of 38 years, three children, and five grandchildren, cherishing family moments alongside her commitment to service.

Thayra “Tye” Hausheer 
Thayra “Tye” Hausheer, a member of the AARP Florida Executive Council, retired from the Social Security Administration in 2014 to focus on volunteerism and community engagement. She served 15+ years with Ballet Folklórico Aires Panameños in Miami as an Executive Board member, Dance Director, and children’s instructor. An active volunteer for AARP and SHINE, she also supports VITAS bereavement care and serves on the Latino Center on Aging advisory board. Married to Jeff for nearly 34 years, Tye enjoys traveling, languages, and creating art.

Kip Corriveau
Kip Corriveau, AARP Florida’s Caregiving Issue Expert, is the Director of Pinellas Residential Programs at Metropolitan Ministries. A family caregiver, he has extensive experience in senior living and social work, shaped by his background as an ordained minister and educator. Previously, he served as Director of Mission at Bon Secours St. Petersburg Health System, overseeing ethics, government relations, and crisis communications. An active advocate for seniors, he volunteers with AARP Florida and the Alzheimer’s Association. In his free time, he enjoys reading, Netflix, and cheering on the Buffalo Bills.

Frank Wells
Frank Wells, AARP Florida’s Housing Issue Expert, is President and Chief Impact Officer at Bright Community Trust Inc., working to expand affordable, safe housing across Florida. A lifelong entrepreneur, he founded multiple ventures, including World Power & Water, securing over $100 million in funding, and Venture House, a social enterprise creating low-cost housing for entrepreneurs and artists. A Leadership Florida graduate, Frank has served on numerous boards, including USF St. Pete’s Entrepreneurship Advisory Board. He continues to drive community impact through regional housing trusts in Central, Southwest, and North Central Florida.
