AARP Phoenix was a participating partner in an Inter-Generational Fitness Day July 20 at Pecos Community Center in Phoenix where over 100 kids and older adults jointly participated in fun and interactive sessions.
The fitness day was also hosted by the City of Phoenix Human Services Department and Phoenix Parks and Recreation FitPHX.
"It was a terrific event," said Paula Wright, AARP Phoenix Community Outreach Director. "Whenever you have kids and older adults participating together, there's an exciting energy in the room that's positive and inspiring."
During the event, participants were treated to a variety of activities including Zumba classes, brain health exercises and nutrition sessions.
"We're looking forward to hosting more of these types of events this fall through our partnership with the City of Phoenix," added Wright.
