AARP Connecticut, located at 21 Oak Street in Hartford (across from the State Capitol) has a great volunteer opportunity for an individual who is looking to use their experience and skills to make a difference in the lives of older adults and their families, while having fun and meeting new people.

We are seeking a (mostly) weekly volunteer to act as “ Volunteer Event Liaison” between our staff and the statewide AARP Connecticut volunteer team.  The ideal candidate will help to organize and prep for a variety of events year-round, with the greatest activity from March through October.

The majority of the volunteer work would take place at the Hartford office, up to 10 hours/week during our busiest season, and less in off-season months.  Must be flexible, energetic, good with people, well-organized and have an attention to detail. This position requires some lifting and moving of event materials, and transporting and arrangement of resources at some on-site event locations. Opportunity to attend some events and other fun perks!

AARP reimburses all volunteers for mileage to and from office/event locations, parking and meals while volunteering. We have a secure parking garage under our building.

If interested, please contact Elaine Werner, Senior Program Specialist-Public Outreach/Volunteer Engagement at ewerner@aarp.org or call 860-548-3169.
