Boom Into 2015 with AARP Tallahassee

By the time you turn 50, you know a lot about the world. But when it comes to retirement planning and life at 50+, you’re only just now stepping into a new phase that changes everything. While this new phase comes with incredible opportunities, it can also involve some onerous challenges that may require some help.

To answer all of the important questions and hear your stories and concerns, AARP Tallahassee is proud to announce the 2015 Boomer Academy series.

The Boomer Academy is a program that connects adults with community leaders and professionals to discuss the nuts and bolts of issues and programs that may be of most interest to you and offer immensely beneficial services.

  • Join us for our “Boom Into 2015” event on Thursday, January 29th, kicking off an entire year of Boomer Academy events in Tallahassee. The event will include invaluable workshops on time management, legal and social planning for retirement, learning how to protect yourself while using social media and Life Reimagined, AARP’s series that seeks to inspire the 50+ community to see their new phase of life as an opportunity to achieve their dreams. You can read more about these subjects now at lifereimagined.aarp.org and states.aarp.org/FL.

The event is FREE to the public. However, you must  register here online or by phone at 1-877-926-8300. Meet us at Tallahassee Community College’s Ghazvini Center for Healthcare Education (1528 Surgeons Drive, Tallahassee, FL, 32308—get directions here) from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. Dinner will be served after the first two workshops.

  • Get $10 off select events at FSU’s Opening Night Performing Arts series with an AARP membership. This offer does not apply to $15 tickets, sold out events, already purchased tickets, Nellie McKay at Pebble Hill Plantation, or Diana Krall. The offer is applicable to online purchases only (openingnights.fsu.edu). For questions and additional information, please email openingnights@fsu.edu
  • You can also look for us at the city’s annual Springtime Tallahassee event on March 28TH. Get information about the benefits of AARP membership, what AARP is already doing for you and the entire 50+ community and take our fun trivia quiz!
