Join AARP for significant events in April that will recognize the history of Civil Rights in Los Angeles as well as honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

On April 4, experience the  Inner City Youth Orchestra of Los Angeles (ICYOLA) at the renowned Dorothy Chandler Pavilion for a remembrance concert for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

The talented musicians of ICYOLA, a nonprofit corporation that transforms the lives and minds of young people in Inner City Los Angeles through high quality music and literacy education, will perform along with a 100-voice male chorus at the renowned Dorothy Chandler Pavilion. The event is free, but registration is recommended. Register here to receive a fun giveaway:  https://aarp.cvent.com/AARPCAMLKCon

On April 21, participate in a 1968 Town Hall on the topic of 50 years of Civil Rights in Los Angeles.  This event will have an intergenerational focus and will explore wealth, housing, civic engagement, and jobs — looking at where we were, where we are now and where we’re headed. The town hall will also feature a special performance by the Inner City Youth Orchestra of Los Angeles, and there will be an opportunity for a guided interactive Civil Rights Tour immediately following the town hall. The first 200 RSVP’s will receive a free gift. Space is limited, register today. RSVP here:  https://aarp.cvent.com/AARPCA1968
