Digital inclusion is more important than ever as much of our lives moved online during the COVID-19 pandemic. It is vital that everyone, especially older adults, have the means to connect virtually to access medical appointments and social services, engage in personal connections and so much more. This year to celebrate Digital Inclusion Week, AARP California is partnering with Senior Planet to offer an array of free events throughout the entire month of October. We hope you can join us virtually at one or all the following events:

Registration is required. Learn more and pre-register HERE.

Digital Inclusion & Equity for Older Adults: October 7th @ 10 a.m. PT
Join AARP and attendees from across California as we celebrate Digital Inclusion Month. During this session, hear from Dr. Alison Bryant, Senior Vice President of AARP Research and renowned expert on the impact of media, technology and consumers. Dr. Bryant will discuss digital inclusion and five barriers that need to be addressed to bridge the digital divide for older adults. She’ll also share some of the latest best practices she is seeing from across the nation and the globe.

Following Dr. Bryant, the Santa Clara County Digital Workgroup for Older Adults will present highlights from their white paper on the status of the County’s digital divide for older adults.  The paper examines the depth and impact of the digital divide, available resources and their recommendations to ensure that the county’s older adults are digitally connected and engaged.
