Summer may be over but that doesn’t mean the fun is winding down; AARP is kicking off autumn with events for the entire family. Check out the full line-up below. The events are FREE and advanced registration is required.

The Basics of Medicare - Tuesday, October 3 | 9 - 10:30 a.m. | Virtual
Learn about the different Medicare plans, including hospital insurance, medical insurance, prescription drug coverage and Medicare Advantage Plans. Returning guest, Charlene Wall, will cover the basics of Medicare, how to enroll, where to get help, the appeals process and more. Register HERE.

Group Exercise with the L.A. Soul Steppers - Tuesdays, October 10 and 24 | 8 - 9 a.m. | Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza (3650 W Martin Luther King Jr Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90008)
Join us at the Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month for one-hour workout sessions that include stretching techniques and walking. Register HERE.

Recycling: The Cold Hard Truth about Plastic - Tuesday, October 10 | 9 - 10 a.m. | Virtual
Recycling professional, Mark Bowers, returns to our series to talk about recycling plastics. Learn about which plastics are eligible for reuse, and get tips on waste reduction and composting. Register HERE.

Cooking Demonstration: Caldo Tlalpeño - Thursday, October 12 | 3 - 4 p.m. | Virtual
We’re closing off Hispanic Heritage Month with a cooking demonstration with chef Maite Gomez-Rejón from ArtBites. Learn how to make Caldo Tlalpeño, a hearty chicken and vegetable Mexican soup. Register HERE.

Documentary Screening: Unconditional - Sunday, October 22 | 1:30 - 3 p.m. | UCLA Northwest Campus Theatre (350 De Neve Dr., Los Angeles, CA 90024)
In advance of Veterans Day, join us for a screening of the documentary Unconditional, which follows three military families and their caregiving journey. Film Screening: Dealing with Dad – Wednesday, October 25 | 6:30 – 9 p.m. | Regency Academy Cinemas (1003 East Colorado Blvd, Pasadena, CA 91106)
Join us for a FREE screening of Dealing with Dad, a moving film that follows adult children returning home to cope with their father’s debilitating depression, only to discover he’s a more pleasant person depressed. Following the screening, attendees will hear from award-winning filmmaker, Tom Huang, and other exciting guests during a panel discussion. Register HERE. NOTE: Doors open at 6 p.m.

Piggy Bank Essentials: Estate Planning - Thursday, October 26 | 9 - 10 a.m. | Virtual
Do you know the difference between a will and a trust? Join us for a workshop on estate planning. Learn about the documents you need, how and where to find help, tips on estate planning and more. Register HERE.

Día de Los Muertos Family Day - Sunday, October 29 | 12 - 4 p.m. | LA Plaza de Cultura y Artes (501 N. Main St., Los Angeles, CA 90012)
Celebrate the life of loved ones who have passed during the Día de Los Muertos Family Day. Join art and food workshops, listen to live music, and support local vendors. Stop by the AARP booth for free giveaways while supplies last. Register HERE.
