The Metro Board of Directors is holding public forums across Los Angeles County this month to get public input on its Draft Expenditure Plan (The Plan). Six (6) public forums are planned, and another will be held online. This is YOUR opportunity to have a say in the LA Metro Plan.
The Plan outlines how Metro will plan, build, operate, and fund our growing transportation system over the next 40 years to accommodate the additional 2.4 million people and 1.4 million new jobs that are projected for Los Angeles County over the same period.
LA County is experiencing a sizeable increase in its senior population, an expected nationwide trend as Baby Boomers age. The number of persons 60+ residing in greater Los Angeles is upwards of 1.7 million, which translates to 1 of every 4 seniors living in the county. Building a system that makes it easier to get around the region is vital for everybody regardless of their age.
So tell Metro your thoughts and share your comments by going to one of LA Metro’s public forums. Find below the public forum(s) you would like to attend:

To fund The Plan, Metro is considering a ballot measure for a new half-cent sales tax and extension of the horizon year for the existing half-cent Measure R sales tax. If approved, these could generate an estimated $120 billion to pay for the transportation projects and programs over the 40-year lifsepan of the Plan.
Please go to Metro’s website to learn more about The Plan. There you can also share your thoughts with Metro using their online comment form, or you may send an email to theplan@metro.net.
