As summer wraps up and many folks are looking toward the end of their fiscal years, you may be shifting your focus to your financial goals.

As we focus throughout the month of July on empowering those in need, we are also shining a light on volunteer opportunities right here in California.

This August, AARP will be partnering with the Pilipinx American Library (PAL) and the Asian Art Museum to celebrate and examine Filipino literature and art over a series of events. PAL is a mobile, non-circulating library that collects print histories and celebrates narratives exclusively by Filipino writers, poets, artists and scholars.

Español As in previous years, this summer we have several and a variety of events specially prepared for you, your friends and your loved ones. You can meet in person your favorite L.A. Galaxy players, educate yourself about the power of protests by Chicanos in Los Angeles during the 60's seeking social justice; as well as take your little ones to enjoy an intergenerational free show. Thanks to the California Voter’s Choice Act, a law passed in 2016, voters in five California counties will have more flexibility to choose how, when, and where they cast their ballots, beginning with the June 5 th primary election.
