ALBANY, N.Y. — Yesterday, in a joint letter, AARP New York and the Public Utility Law Project (“PULP”) called on Governor Kathy Hochul to open the Home Energy Assistance Program (“HEAP”) as scheduled on November 3rd and address the funding shortfall until federal funds are restored.

It is Week Four of social distancing in Wyoming and we thought it would be a good time to check in and let you know what we are doing at AARP Wyoming in between hand washings.
If you have a spouse, sibling, parent, or other loved one in a nursing home, you may be worried about their safety and well-being because of the coronavirus pandemic. Here are some key questions to ask the nursing home:
AARP is providing information and resources about COVID-19 to help older Virginians and their families protect themselves from the virus and prevent it from spreading to others.
“The Treasury Department launched a new web tool allowing quick registration for Economic Impact Payments for eligible individuals who do not normally file a tax return, and also announced that it would begin making automatic payments. However, for some people receiving benefits from the Social Security Administration--specifically those who have dependent children under the age of 17--it is to their advantage to go to this portal to ensure they also get the $500 per dependent Economic Impact Payment. I encourage them to do this as soon as possible, and want to provide the following details:
