AARP Colorado is a sponsor of the National Association for Chicana and Chicano Studies conference in Denver April 6-9 to coincide with the Cesar Chavez celebration. For more details about the conference, visit.

In conjunction with the National Association for Chicana and Chicano Studies conference, the Cesar Chavez Day celebration will be held April 9.

Cesar Chavez was a true leader. As a Latino organizer he was dedicated to the betterment of the lives of migrant farm workers, and his actions inspired and empowered people throughout the world.

Because he was a great leader and the face of the Chicano movement, AARP Colorado recognizes the contributions of the late Cesar Chavez with its sponsorship of a celebration and parade in his memory to be held April 9, 2016. The march will commence at Regis University at 10 a.m. and end in celebration at Cesar Chavez Park on West 41st Avenue at Tennyson Street in Denver, starting at 11:30 a.m.

Call AARP director of multicultural engagement Roberto Rey at 303-318-6763 for more information.
