The annual program aims to make communities in Connecticut more livable for people of all ages
AARP Connecticut will be awarding grants this year to help cities, towns and nonprofits make their communities more livable.
United Illuminating (UI) has proposed a 30%+ increase to their electric distribution charges to you, the ratepayer, over the n ext three years. The proposal also allows UI to increase its profits with a higher return on equity and a new “earnings sharing mechanism” giving the company’s shareholders an opportunity to earn even higher returns via an automatic revenue retention plan.

AARP Connecticut will have a presence at the 42 nd Annual Milford Oyster Festival on Saturday, Aug. 20, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., in Downtown Milford. The free event has 35,000 oysters and features the largest variety of oysters at any festival in the United States with 19 varities from eight East Coast states.
