Cook County seniors still have time to save on their property taxes.

County Treasurer Maria Pappas recently announced as many as 31,000 seniors may still be eligible for exemptions on their property tax bills due August 1.  The exemptions can be worth hundreds of dollars, according to Pappas.

Many seniors in Cook County are eligible for the Senior Citizen Homestead Exemption and Senior Freeze Exemption, but must reapply for the savings each year.
