AARP, AT&T team up to coach 50+ Orlando residents on tech tips

Modern communications technology enables new ways to connect and share information, and on March 8 and March 11, 2013 older adults in Orlando will participate in a hands-on training about how to harness this power. The AT&T Reconnect Tour, in alliance with Senior TechRALLY™ and presented by AARP, offers attendees a fresh perspective on smartphones, tablets and wireless technology overall.

Baby Boomers are the fastest growing users of social media sites like Facebook – and Boomer women are the fastest growing Smartphone users.  As the 50+ crowd broadens their technological horizons, AARP wants to ensure that older adults have the tools and resources they need to stay ahead of the technology curve.

Event Details:
Date: March 8th and March 11th
Time: 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM (Both Dates)
Location: Winter Park Community Center
                  721 West New England Avenue
                  Winter Park, Florida 32789

Now in its third year, the AT&T Reconnect Tour is a comprehensive interactive mobile tech workshop created for older adults. Each workshop takes place over a full day and attendees learn about the benefits of using mobile technology, covering topics such as text messaging, apps, video calling, e-books and photo sharing. Specially trained instructors guide attendees through the sessions while teaching them how to use smartphones and tablets as a means to stay connected to family and friends.
