AARP Honors State Elected Officials for Helping Family Caregivers
In recognition of World Elder Abuse Awareness Day on June 15, the Idaho Department of Finance and the Idaho Commission on Aging spotlight the importance of safeguarding Idaho’s senior population by keeping a watchful eye for signs of elder financial exploitation and promptly reporting possible abuse to appropriate officials.
Today, volunteers and staff from Idaho head to Washington to advocate on behalf of AARP members and all older Americans on the crucial issues of Family Caregiving and Social Security. While meeting with members of Congress, these volunteers and staff have carried crucial asks:

Emergency Caregiving Respite (ECR) is a respite care program designed to assist 24/7 family caregivers. Through ECR any Idaho caregiver providing 24/7 care to any person of any age (child, adult or elder) is eligible to apply for funding.
