AARP Iowa is hosting a webinar on Wednesday, May 24, to raise awareness about U.S. Department of Agriculture programs that provide loans and grants to very low-income homeowners to repair, improve or modernize their homes.

In the early 1900s, the Greenwood neighborhood of Tulsa, Oklahoma, now called "Black Wall Street," was a vibrant and prosperous community. AARP Iowa is urging state legislators on both sides of the aisle to cap out-of-pocket insulin costs for Iowans on state-regulated health insurance plans. A state cap on insulin costs would protect nearly 250,000 Iowans on state-regulated health insurance plans from out-of-control insulin prices.

We know it takes time to build great communities. But we also believe that tangible improvements can spark long-term change. AARP launched the Community Challenge to fund projects that build momentum to improve livability nationwide.
