AARP is accepting nominations until August 15 for its 2024 Iowa Andrus Award for Community Service, an annual award honoring a 50+ volunteer in the state who is sharing their experience, talent, and skills to enrich the lives of their community members.
Iowa’s statewide primary election is Tuesday, June 4. Races include all four U.S. House seats, all 100 state House seats and 25 of 50 state Senate seats.
AARP is hitting the road with the Iowa Insurance Division and the state Office of the Attorney General to educate consumers about how to spot and avoid scams.
AARP Iowa volunteer speakers are ready to give presentations on a variety of topics important to older adults, such as “The Six Pillars of Brain Health” and “How to Make Your Home Fit for a Lifetime.”
Larry Kudej of Swisher has been named AARP Iowa Volunteer State President and will lead the Association’s Iowa Executive Council, working closely with AARP Iowa State Director Brad Anderson, Iowa staff, and volunteers in their efforts on behalf of AARP’s 328,000 members in Iowa.
