AARP Eye Center
During February and March, in honor of Black History Month, AARP is celebrating the stories of six Californians defining what it means to take hold of all of life’s possibilities at any age.
We continue our series this week by featuring Jackie Dupont-Walker, the founding president of Ward Economic Development Corporation, a faith-based community development organization.
She's been a member of AARP for nearly 25 years because she's passionate about advocating for her community and knows we're an ally in her corner. "I like AARP because they fight to protect Social Security and Medicare," she says. That's true, but what you might not know is that we don't do it alone.
Thousands of Californians like Jackie - your neighbors, friends, and community leaders - have helped us protect the benefits you've earned, improve access to affordable, quality healthcare, and fight against higher utility rates. You can join in our efforts by becoming a volunteer to work alongside others who want to see Californians of every age thrive.
Jackie's goal for the future is to continue making a difference because every second counts. We applaud her - and we couldn't agree more.
