AARP Kansas hosted its annual Advocacy Day—affectionately known as Cookie Day—at the Kansas Statehouse. This event brings volunteers together to meet with legislators, share cookies, and most importantly, discuss issues that matter to Kansans age 50 and older.

Building great communities takes time – but small, tangible improvements can spark lasting change. That’s the idea behind the AARP Community Challenge, a grant program launched in 2017 to support quick-action projects that enhance livability nationwide.

Topeka, KS – AARP Kansas supports litigation filed today by attorneys from AARP Foundation Litigation and other organizations and law firms to address efforts by the states of Kansas and Arizona, through each state’s Secretary of State, to impose their States’ proof-of-citizenship laws on persons applying to register to vote using the federal mail-in registration form.
Frank McBride of Salina is the 2013 winner of AARP's most prestigious award for community service in the state. Each year, AARP presents the Ethel Percy Andrus Award for Community Service to an individual or individuals who, through volunteer service, significantly enhance the lives of those in their community. This award symbolizes that individuals have the power and ability to make a difference in the lives of others.
