Trained, Tested and Open for Business: Kentucky Tax-Aide Volunteers are Ready to Help
This year, AARP Foundation and its volunteers are ready to help with free tax preparation and filing for taxpayers and especially those with low to moderate income through the AARP Foundation Tax-Aide program. Tax-Aide, in its 47 th year, is the nation’s largest free tax assistance and preparation service , giving special attention the needs of older Americans.
And you do not need to be a member of AARP or a retiree to use this service. The free service is offered from Feb. 1 – April 15.

Across the state, Kentuckians have access to nearly 200 free tax preparation sites where trained and IRS-certified volunteers will assist you with your taxes and help you apply for the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC).
What They Do: AARP Foundation Tax-Aide’s 36,000 volunteers at nearly 6,000 sites provided over 2.5 million people with free tax help. Taxpayers who used AARP Foundation Tax-Aide received $1.3 billion in income tax refunds and more than $233 million in Earned Income Tax Credits (EITCs).
Last year, 481 AARP Foundation Tax-Aide Kentucky volunteers helped more than 31,000 people file their federal, state and local tax returns. The program is offered at approximately 79 sites in Kentucky including senior centers, libraries and other convenient locations near you.
