In the wake of COVID-19 outbreak
AARP Louisiana is offering two sessions at which Bayou Staters can protect themselves from identity theft by shredding up to four boxes of personal documents such as bank statements, canceled checks and receipts.
The Bayou State is home to 680,000 family caregivers providing $6 billion in unpaid assistance annually. With that come stories of personal struggle and persistence.
Holiday shopping season is here, and that presents plenty of opportunities for scammers to spoil your celebrations. They are more than willing to use the joyous mood to get into your wallet. But with a little preparation and vigilance, you can cut down on the threat of becoming a scam victim.
A public safety demonstration grant from AARP Louisiana has helped transform Longfellow Park in North Baton Rouge into a peaceful sanctuary among its treasured live oaks. The funding allowed BREC to install permanent up-lighting to 15 Live Oak Trees and provided for more pedestrian lighting along the walking trail at the park. The new features will be unveiled at a celebration on Tuesday, Dec.17. The festivities will include food, fun and entertainment for the entire family. This event is free and open to the public.
