AARP Maryland officials cheered the House of Delegates and Senate’s decision to stand in support of family caregivers by voting to override Governor Hogan’s veto of SB 275, paid family leave legislation.
AARP Maryland is looking to help revive a measure in the state General Assembly that would let employees take up to 12 weeks of paid family leave to welcome a newborn, recover from a serious illness or care for a loved one.
This is the year for the Maryland legislature to pass the Time to Care Act and ensure that Marylanders don't have to choose between their jobs and caring for themselves or their loved ones.
