On September 26, 2018, 11 outstanding Marylanders from communities across the state were honored for their volunteer service by AARP Maryland at our annual awards celebration at the Gathering Place in Clarksville, Md. We were also joined by dozens of other amazing AARP Maryland volunteers!
Congratulations to the The Beacon's Celebration of the Arts winners for 2018. Artists over age 50 from the District, Maryland and Virginia created and submitted hundreds of entries in four categories, incorporating visual and written works. "Art, in its various forms, is a great way to express one's creative ideas and freely display their emotions," says Hank Greenberg, AARP Maryland state director. “It’s exciting to see the wealth and diversity of talent on display.”
