As of November 1, 2025, millions of Americans—including many older adults—may not receive their monthly food benefits through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) due to the ongoing federal government shutdown. This disruption affects individuals living on fixed incomes, many of whom rely on SNAP to afford groceries and maintain their health.

AARP Massachusetts Announces this year's Andrus Award Winner
The Massachusetts Taskforce to End Loneliness & Build Community hosted their annual summit on September 28, 2022.
On Tuesdays in September and October, AARP members and up to five guests can enjoy free admission to the New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hill in Boylston. The entire group (up to six people) must arrive in one vehicle and mention the code FUN50 at the welcome gate.
