AARP is delighted to offer members and their guests the special opportunity to experience Fiddler on the Roof in a new way–in Yiddish, the language of Tevye and his family!
Directed by Oscar and Tony Award-winner Joel Grey, the rich Yiddish translation adds new depth and dimension to this well known Jewish musical. Don’t miss the beloved story of a community and its struggle to balance traditions and desires in a changing world.
The little town of Anatevka will bustle with the sounds of mame-loshn in the American premiere of the Yiddish language adaptation of Fiddler from July 15 through August 26, 2018, at the Museum of Jewish Heritage in New York City .
Stepping respectively into the iconic roles of Yente, Tevye, and Golde are comedian and two-time Emmy Award nominee Jackie Hoffman (“Charlie And the Chocolate Factory”, “The Addams Family”, “Hairspray”), and Broadway veterans Steven Skybell (“Fiddler On The Roof”, “Wicked”, “The Full Monty”), and Mary Illes (“Phantom of the Opera”, “The Music Man”, “The Scarlett Pimpernel”, “Steel Pier”).
Theater tickets include same-day complimentary admission to the Museum of Jewish Heritage ( www.mjhnyc.org), with full access to the permanent and special exhibitions.
