Voters

Voting in the mid-term elections is easy for some people – just a quick walk around the corner or a short drive to the polling station. But for others, it may seem impossible.
AARP just launched “ Be The Difference. Vote™,” a comprehensive voter engagement campaign to support Americans age 50-plus as they vote in the 2018 midterm elections. The campaign will provide information on where politicians stand on the issues and help these decisive voters hold politicians accountable for their positions this November.
Today, AARP presented Senator Maggie Hassan with a 2017 “Champion for the 50+” Congressional Award for her legislative leadership during the first year of the 115 th Congress.
POLITICO, the most robust global newsroom specializing in politics and policy, today announced a partnership with AARP, the nation's largest nonprofit, nonpartisan organization dedicated to empowering Americans 50 and older.
A real life ‘Rosie the Riveter,’ Donna Mangold spent her career on the bustling factory floors of manufacturing plants throughout the country. Over the course of decades in the workforce, Donna’s efforts contributed to the fabrication of everything from industrial printers and paint sprayers, to dialysis machines and surgical heart-lung pumps; the sort of equipment that some may take for granted - while subconsciously counting on to make everyday life possible.
In this polarizing election where specifics have been taking a backseat to soundbites, one issue transcends the partisan divide and unites people of all ages – Social Security. According to a new survey released today by AARP, more than nine in 10 New Hampshire primary voters across party lines and age groups say it is important for presidential candidates to lay out their plans to make Social Security financially sound for future generations.
Our first-in-the-nation primary is right around the corner and it’s time for all the Presidential candidates to Take a Stand on their plans to update Social Security for the 21st century. We need Presidential leadership to make sure Social Security is financially sound so current and future generations can receive the adequate benefits they’ve earned. And we need your help.
Social Security needs to be updated for the 21 st century so we can keep the promise for future generations. If our leaders don’t act, future retirees could lose up to $10,000 a year. But there won’t be any progress on updating Social Security without presidential leadership.
Want to get more involved in the First-in-the-Nation Presidential Primary without getting tangled in partisan politics? Do you enjoy meeting presidential candidates and others running for public office? Interested in asking them their position on topics of importance to people 50-plus and their families?
