AARP New Jersey Applauds Governor Murphy’s Proposal to Restore and Fully Fund Two Critical Property Tax Relief Programs

Statement from AARP New Jersey State Director Stephanie Hunsinger

NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. (August 25, 2020) – “On behalf of AARP’s nearly 1.3 million Garden State members – and all New Jerseyans – AARP New Jersey applauds Governor Murphy’s FY’ 21 budget proposal to restore and fully fund New Jersey’s Senior Freeze (Property Tax Reimbursement) and Homestead Benefit Programs.

These critical property tax relief programs support hundreds of thousands of New Jersey’s low, fixed and moderate income residents who need these programs to be able to afford to remain in their homes and communities, where they want to be.

We look forward to working with the Governor and the Legislature in the coming weeks to finalize a budget that includes these and other important priorities to ensure the financial and health security for all during these very challenging times.”
