Pushing for Legislation to Support Older Ohioans

ohio capitol.png

The Ohio General Assembly will meet after Election Day for a final session to try to pass bills that have languished for the past two years, before the new term begins on Tuesday, Jan. 3.

AARP Ohio supports legislation to benefit older Ohioans. Some bills that may be considered would improve nursing home quality; reduce the cost of prescription drugs; cap copayments for insulin; address access to primary care in rural areas; impose stricter penalties for elder abuse; and expand the law on living wills and related powers of attorney.
